Founded in 2004 by Japanese designer Junichi Abe, kolor has become synonymous with well-constructed and vibrant garments crafted from innovative materials. Yasumichi Morita, the creative director, plays a pivotal role not only in shaping the brand’s men’s and women’s collections but also in designing its retail spaces. Adding to the kolor retail landscape, the brand inaugurates a new standalone boutique in downtown Marunouchi, Tokyo. Housed within the Shin Tokyo Building, the store’s interior, conceived in collaboration with architect Yasumichi Morita of Glamorous, embraces intentional cleanliness and minimalism to highlight the merchandise.
Steel panels create a corridor with mounted display rods, set against concrete flooring and an exposed ceiling. The merchandise, including apparel, shoes, accessories, and bags, is thoughtfully showcased, inviting shoppers into a curated retail experience. The kolor store in Marunouchi stocks a diverse range of items from the brand’s men’s and women’s collections.
