With its roots in Kyoto over a decade ago, ninehours has revolutionized the concept of capsule hotels, blending the simplicity of overnight stays with cutting-edge design and technology. The latest addition to the chain, ninehours Hanzomon, elevates the capsule hotel experience in the heart of Tokyo’s downtown Hanzomon neighborhood, just moments away from the Imperial Palace.
Designed by Tokyo-based architect Akihisa Hirata, the multi-story building boasts a mirrored glass façade, mirroring the surrounding office buildings. Pixel-like cut-outs adorned with lush trees create a visual oasis, enhancing the greenery effect. The sleeping pods, crafted by acclaimed designer Fumie Shibata, ensure maximum comfort with dimensions of 110cm wide by 220cm deep by 110cm tall. Each pod features the Sleep Ambient Control System for an optimal night’s sleep.
As with other ninehours properties, Hanzomon provides separate facilities for men and women, including ample locker space and shower facilities. For fitness enthusiasts, the popular Imperial Palace Loop, offering a scenic run around the emperor’s residence, is conveniently close. Additionally, the sister establishment, ninehours Otemachi, on the opposite side of the palace, offers complimentary rentals of Nike Zoom Fly and Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 34 running shoes.
