Established over fifteen years ago in Wellington, Mojo has become a coffee powerhouse with 35 coffee parlors scattered across the New Zealand capital and Auckland. In a strategic move, owners Steve and Julie Gianoutsos partnered with a Chinese business associate in 2015 to launch Mojo’s first international branch in Xian. The brand, known for its artisanal coffee creations, quickly gained popularity among locals. The latest addition to Mojo’s global portfolio is a striking three-level outpost located in the China Railway Xian Centre. Designed by Shanghai-based architecture firm dongqi, the café boasts a captivating glass and steel façade, showcasing its inviting interior dominated by untreated timber.
With walls and ceilings adorned in slatted wood, complemented by stone tile flooring, the café provides a chic yet understated ambiance. A sturdy concrete staircase connects the levels, each featuring furnishings tailored to its dimensions. True to its roots, the new Mojo café serves a diverse range of coffee blends, freshly roasted on-site for an unparalleled freshness. The menu, reminiscent of those in New Zealand, offers a variety of sandwiches, cakes, and freshly made juices. Mojo’s presence in Xian reflects its commitment to global expansion while staying true to its artisanal coffee ethos.
