Jil Sander’s new London store on Bond Street, a collaborative creation with architects Casper Mueller Kneer, offers an intimate exploration of the Meiers’ Jil Sander universe. Opened in November 2023, the store showcases meticulous attention to detail, echoing the brand’s signature approach to fashion.
The design, inspired by Italian architect Carlo Scarpa, revolves around textural elements, primarily utilizing travertine marble for floors, walls, and a distinctive staircase. The material’s unique blue veins add an unexpected touch. The emphasis on stone surfaces allows for a dynamic environment that can complement the changing product displays. The store achieves a harmonious, evolving atmosphere, blending geological textures with a focus on small, enriching details reminiscent of Jil Sander’s fashion language.
