Fashion aficionados and photography enthusiasts, rejoice! The latest exhibition at Armani/Silos invites you to delve into the timeless influence of Italian photographer Aldo Fallai. Titled “Aldo Fallai per Giorgio Armani, 1977-2021,” this comprehensive showcase marks Fallai’s inaugural solo exhibition in a Milanese gallery, highlighting his remarkable four-decade-long collaboration with fashion icon Giorgio Armani.
Aldo Fallai’s lens has played a pivotal role in shaping the aesthetic identity of the Armani brand for nearly 30 years. The exhibition, intentionally curated for immersive impact, explores Fallai’s unique creative style, emphasizing his significant contribution to both fashion and art. From empowering women with tailored power suits to capturing the intersection of style and societal shifts, Fallai’s timeless imagery takes center stage.
The 250-image odyssey unfolds non-chronologically, providing viewers with an opportunity to savor every nuance of Fallai’s talent. The absence of captions adds an intriguing layer to the experience, allowing the images to speak for themselves. Curated by the esteemed Armani team, including head of men’s style Leo Dell’Orco, Armani’s sister Rosanna, and Giorgio Armani himself, the exhibition pays homage to a legendary career.
Armani/Silos, dedicated to showcasing the brand’s design philosophy, has previously celebrated photography luminaries like Guy Bourdin, Peter Lindbergh, and Larry Fink. Aldo Fallai rightfully takes his place among these giants, with his ability to capture timeless elegance and nuanced personality in classic photography. The exhibition, inaugurated on December 4 with a private event and open to the public since December 5, will captivate audiences until August 11, 2024.
