Samsung has officially unveiled its latest wearable, the Galaxy Ring, following a teaser at last month’s Galaxy S24 Unpacked event. While details about pricing and availability are yet to be disclosed, Samsung provided in-depth insights into the features of its first-ever smart ring. The Galaxy Ring caters to a wide range of users, available in US ring sizes 5 to 13, with corresponding markings of S to XL on the inside. Distinguishing itself from competitors like the Oura Ring, Samsung’s ring boasts a concave shape that tapers in the middle. The device comes in three elegant colors: ceramic black, platinum silver, and gold.
Equipped with advanced health tracking capabilities, the Galaxy Ring monitors heart rate, breathing rate, sleep patterns, and night movements. Notably, it can detect early signs of sleep apnea, offering users valuable insights into their overall well-being. Samsung promotes the Ring as a perfect companion to the Galaxy Watch, ensuring high-quality 24/7 health and activity tracking. A standout feature is the calculation of the Vitality score, derived from a combination of daily activity, sleep duration, resting heart rate, and heart rate variability. Users can set specific well-being goals and track their progress through Booster Cards, accessible in the Samsung Health app.
Initially, the Galaxy Ring will exclusively sync with Samsung Galaxy smartphones, with plans to extend compatibility to other Android devices in the future. As Samsung steps into the smart ring market, the Galaxy Ring promises a seamless blend of style and advanced health tracking for tech-savvy users.
