Sabato de Sarno presented his second women’s collection for Gucci, immersing viewers in a world adorned with whimsical crystals, glistening sequins, and luxurious leather. Accompanied by a meticulously curated soundtrack by British producer Mark Ronson, the Gucci Woman took center stage with a vibrant personality for Fall/Winter 2024. As the newly appointed creative director, de Sarno refined his vision, revealing subtle deviations from his debut and providing attendees with a deeper understanding of his overarching manifesto.
De Sarno’s vision, as articulated in his show notes, mirrors his approach to dreams and fashion—an exploration within folds, a meticulous attention to detail, and a quest for the extraordinary within the ordinary. The collection features thick trench coats and jackets adorned with crystals, light dresses shimmering with sequins, and the signature “rosso ancora” tone dominating leather pieces. Vibrant colors contribute to a kaleidoscopic effect, balanced by neutral tones to prevent overwhelming chaos. The offering, with a touch of controlled madness, includes the elevation of the brand’s Horsebit Loafers on platforms.
Designed for the “ways of life” de Sarno seeks, the collection seamlessly blends fantasy and wearability, embodying his aspirational dreams in tangible, chic fashion.
